Crisp Mornings, Cozy Evenings & Everything In Between
There is something about October in Port Ludlow that makes you want to slow down just a little.
The mornings are crisp, the leaves are beginning to change, and evenings are made for the fireplace. Fall has officially arrived on the Olympic Peninsula, and I think this is one of the best times of year to experience the Resort.
October is also when our local farms give us one last incredible burst of the season. Squash, apples, root vegetables, greens, mushrooms and other fall favorites begin making their way into the kitchen, giving Chef Kyle and his team plenty to work with. This time of year, comfort food just seems to taste a little better—especially when so much of it comes from right here in our surrounding communities.
Outside, there is still plenty to do. Fall is a beautiful time to play a round of golf, hike the trails, take an e-bike out for a few hours, explore Port Townsend and the Chimacum Valley, or grab your favorite sweater and enjoy the view from the waterfront.
And if the weather decides not to cooperate? I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
There is something pretty great about coming back from a walk on a fall Northwest afternoon, settling in by the fireplace, enjoying a great dinner and a glass of Washington wine, and realizing you really don't need to be anywhere else.
October doesn't ask you to pack quite as much into the day. Maybe that's what makes it so good. We hope you'll come spend a little of it with us.
Cheers,
Dan Ratigan
General Manager

You can feel the seasons changing outside, and you can taste it on the plate at the Fireside.
As summer produce gives way to the flavors of fall, Chef Kyle and his team are turning to the best of what our local farms are harvesting now—squash, apples, hearty greens, root vegetables, mushrooms, herbs and all those ingredients that seem made for cooler Northwest days.
This is also when some of the work our culinary team has been doing all summer begins to pay off. Ingredients gathered at their peak have been pickled, preserved and tucked away, allowing us to bring a little taste of summer into our fall dishes while still celebrating everything the new season has to offer.
Add a glass of Washington wine, a waterfront view and a warm dining room, and you have a pretty good reason to join us for dinner.
Fall is on the menu at the Fireside. Come taste what our local farms have been growing.

For some, the arrival of fall is the best time of the year. Those crisp mornings, the changing color of the leaves and getting out to play golf in the sunny afternoons!

GOLD - Best Golf Course
Gold again. Port Ludlow Golf Course has been named the Seattle Times' Best of the Pacific Northwest for golf for the second year in a row.
Our Olympic Peninsula neighbors at Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course took Bronze, and we couldn't be happier to share the podium with them. Two very different courses, one beautiful peninsula.
If you've been meaning to plan a fall golf getaway, this might be the one: play Port Ludlow, stay the night at the Inn, then head up the peninsula to Dungeness for round two.

Congratulations to the Ferguson boys, our 2026 Crab Derby champions and winners of a $100 gift certificate! Thank you to everyone who participated and made this year’s derby another fun summer tradition at Port Ludlow Marina.

The new D-Dock West docks arrived last week, another big step forward in the Marina's ongoing improvements.
Wonderful work by Marine Floats, and we can't wait to see it come together.

Escape the Boardroom
Your Best Meeting of 2027 Might Not Be in the Office
| | |
There is something about getting away from the office that changes a meeting.
New surroundings. Fewer distractions. Better conversations. And maybe a little more time to actually connect with the people you work with every day.
At The Resort at Port Ludlow, we specialize in creating leadership retreats, strategic planning sessions and team getaways for smaller groups looking for something a little different.
With just 37 guestrooms, your group doesn't get lost in a giant conference hotel. Instead, you can bring everyone together for a retreat built around your team and your goals.
Spend the morning getting down to business, then trade the conference table for a round of golf, a hike, an e-bike ride or time on the water.
Finish the day around the table with a private dinner featuring ingredients from our local farm partners—and maybe a great bottle of Washington wine.
Need to get you team out of the office?
Let's create their retreat.
| | |
We're now working with companies on 2027 leadership retreats, executive off-sites and strategic planning sessions.
Tell us a little about your group and we'll create a sample two-day Port Ludlow retreat—including guestrooms, meeting space, meals, activities and preliminary pricing.
