September 2022

Dear Friends,

As I step out onto the Quad and observe students, faculty, and staff hurrying to classes, leadership opportunities, music, theatre, and athletic practices, or just to grab a snack, I am struck by how often they stop to greet one another with the Muskie "Hi!" The people on this campus continue to care for one another in wonderful ways in the midst of our intense educational endeavors. Community is alive and well at Muskingum.

There is a special energy on campus this fall, as we put the final touches on our state-of-the-art Henry D. Bullock Health and Wellness Complex and prepare to host our 100th Homecoming Celebration on September 16-18. We will have many wonderful activities for students and alumni during Homecoming Week and we look forward to celebrating Grand Opening of the Bullock Complex at 11 a.m. on September 17. That evening, our Fighting Muskies will play the season's home opener under the lights, with fans enjoying a completely different experience in our new stadium.

This week, we opened our first art gallery exhibit of the year, and have a variety of musical and theatrical performances, lectures and academic presentations, and athletic events scheduled. To make it easier to find campus events and add them to your calendars, we have launched a new events calendar.

We hope to see you on campus throughout the semester and the year, as we showcase the excellent work done by our students, faculty, and staff in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, and in the community.

With best wishes and many thanks for your commitment to Muskingum,

President Sue Hasseler
