Beating The Heat @ St. Thomas

As the heat rises, St. Thomas is taking the following steps to keep people comfortable on Sundays.

  • There will be two swamp coolers in the back of the church. Parishioners are encouraged to sit in the front half of the church to minimize the noise impact of their blowers.
  • Ushers will greet parishioners and distribute bulletins outside of the church so that we can keep the doors close. Everyone is encouraged to enter through the side door in the cloisters or through the Great Hall.
  • We have ordered hand fans and will distribute them once they arrive.
  • Everyone is encouraged to dress for the heat. Shorts and sandals are encouraged!
  • The altar party will not vest when the temperatures are over 90 degrees.
  • Everyone is invited to bring popsicles, ice cream and cold drinks to share during coffee hour.
