During the last few months, there have been some amazing Central Valley kids helping to support Valley Children's. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to sisters Kaydence and Ella of Lompoc, who in November 2019 hosted a lemonade stand to raise money for Valley Children's. * * * On September 13th, 5-year-old Wyatt performed a captivating virtual piano recital fundraiser via YouTube. Wyatt is the son of Valley Children's own hospitalist and pediatric child advocacy pediatrician Dr. Wan Keung Chen. * * * We would like to thank pediatric oncologist Dr. Faizal Razzaqi's son, Aydin, an 8-year-old local artist and supporter. Aydin raised $1,100 with his artwork that will be donated to our Oncology Department.

Two very special kiddos, Lilly and Santiago, drew pictures and sold them to friends and family, raising $255.74 to help meet Valley Children's greatest needs. * * * A great big "squeeze and thanks" to these two, Francesca and Luca, who have been hosting a lemonade stand for five years to raise funds for Valley Children's. And thank you to their dad, Fabrizio, who matched their funds funds raised, bringing their total donation to $502. * * * We also want to give a big virtual squeeze to Patten, Jarrett and Kansas who raised $430 this year with their Lemonade for Charity event that was held virtually this year. Over the last five years, they have raised more than $3,000 for Valley Children's. What a difference they are all making at such young ages. We love to see kids helping kids!

We appreciate Credit Unions for Kids’ donation of $43,526 from their recent virtual Wine Auction event. Every year, credit unions such as Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) and Pacific Service Credit Union come together for a fundraising gala to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in California and Nevada, including Valley Children’s. Turning the gala into a virtual auction this year was a great success, with one hundred percent of their donation benefiting Valley Children's Child Life Services. Thank you, CU4Kids: your dollars make a tremendous positive difference for our patients!
We want to thank Les Schwab Tire Centers for raising more than $14,300 in their fifth successful annual campaign during the month of August. The centers displayed Valley Children's icons representing each individual donation received. During these challenging times, we are grateful for the amazing support and dedication of these store managers, their staff and customers who donated toward Valley Children’s greatest needs. Congratulations to the Selma location (pictured above) for raising the most funds of any center location! Together, we are all helping make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
