Derek and Heather Carr Make Matching $75,000 Donation at DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge Reception
During the annual DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge reception, members and their guests enjoyed music, catered food and great company at the beautiful Stockbridge estate. Derek also held a Q&A session at the end of the program to give members and their guests a chance to ask additional questions.
During the program portion of the evening, Derek announced that he and his wife, Heather, will be matching the total raised by DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge members with a generous donation of their own of $75,000! The Carr family’s donation will support the completion of the playground located on the South Lawn of Valley Children's Hospital's main campus in Madera, CA. The playground will provide patients with a fun place to enjoy time outside doing what they do best: being a kid.
We would like to thank Derek and Heather Carr, along with each of our DC4KIDS Touchdown Challenge members, for their incredible investment in Valley Children's through this program, and for being an inspiration to help support children's health where they live, learn and play.

Turlock Pentecost Association's "Festa for the Kids" Golf Tournament Raises $41,000
Valley Children's thanks the Turlock Pentecost Association for hosting their first golf tournament, #FestafortheKids. In Portuguese, “festa” means party or celebration. The event also featured a putting contest, silent auction and offered delicious food. The golf tournament raised an incredible $31,000 on the day of the tournament. Through even greater generosity from the members of this remarkable group, the final total was $41,000.
We are so grateful for their dedication to helping their community. All funds raised at the golf tournament will support patients served at Valley Children’s Pelandale Specialty Care Center in Modesto.
The Turlock Pentecost Association was established in 1912. The group holds several events throughout the year to help families in their community. We are proud to be a recipient of their generous giving and thank the committee, participants and vendors who helped make the event such a success. We look forward to partnering next year!
