Looking back at the past year, we are filled with gratitude because of what you and others have done to help local children. Valley Children's is a place filled with stories of extraordinary generosity and strong commitments to advancing the mission of Valley Children's through philanthropy. We recently captured just a small handful of those stories in a Year In Review corresponding with the recent conclusion of our fiscal year on September 30. Please click here to read the digital version of Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation’s Year In Review. Thank you to the thousands of people who raised funds for Valley Children’s in the past year, and to the tens of thousands who supported Valley Children’s financially. You are bringing health, hope, and healing to children through philanthropy.
We offer tremendous gratitude to St. Baldrick’s Foundation for funding an infrastructure grant award of $50,000 to support the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program and Dr. John Gates’ innovative work to improve the lives of survivors of pediatric cancer. Congratulations to Dr. John Gates and the entire Childhood Cancer Survivorship team on receiving this prestigious grant award. Thank you to St. Baldrick’s Foundation for continuing to make the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program possible through your organization’s generosity, which totals more than $500,000 since 2009.
A huge thank you to the Rite Aid Foundation Kidcents Program for awarding a $50,000 regional grant for the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program at Valley Children's Hospital. Rite Aid and The Rite Aid Foundation have been passionate supporters of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals for more than 25 years. This grant allows our Cancer Survivorship Program to provide the educational and psychosocial services needed to help our patients have the best quality of life after cancer.
On November 2, the second annual  Fresno State Dance Marathon, known as “Bulldog-A-Thon,”  was held on the Fresno State campus. This year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car generously sponsored our Dance Marathon. The six-hour event, which takes place on college campuses nationwide in support of local children’s hospitals, raised an incredible $22,556 to support kids at Valley Children’s  Hospital. A huge thank you to Enterprise Rent-A-Car! We would also like to recognize Fresno State’s Phi Mu sorority and the many  Fresno State  students who helped put this great event together. Your commitment to supporting children with futures worth fighting for is truly inspiring.
November 2 was also National "Game Day" for Extra Life, a program through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals designed to raise funds for local children's hospitals by playing games for 24 hours. Thank you to  Crazy Squirrel Games & Toys  in Fresno for hosting Game Day, and the many local gamers who participated for 24 hours straight to raise much needed funds for  Valley Children's  Hospital. Together, gamers have raised more than $18,000 for Valley Children's Hospital this year through Extra Life.
In this season of Thanksgiving, we would like to express our gratitude to you for your time and financial support throughout the year. The mission of Valley Children's Healthcare is made possible by the tens of thousands of people, businesses, and organizations each year who generously support Valley Children's and the 1.3 million kids living within our 12-county service area. Thank you for bringing health and healing to local children.
