HOW TO WE DECIDE TO CANCEL/DELAY SCHOOL?
It is time to start preparing for the winter season. We work diligently to have a plan in place to protect our students in the event of inclement weather.
Our primary focus is on student safety.
Our intention is to make a call on the status of the district no later than 5:30 AM.
In the event of a school cancellation, all K-8 activities are automatically cancelled. The status of high school activities will be determined by noon. If the decision is made to allow for high school practices, those practices are voluntary.
The best location for information about our calamity status will be our social media platforms and our all-call system. Follow us on Facebook (@valleyviewschools) Twitter (@ValleyViewSupt), or our website.
We have a team of people who drive the roads in the morning and monitor the forecast. Remember that at 61 square miles, different parts of our district can experience different weather phenomenon.
We are beginning to look at other communication systems, including email and text messaging. Our goal is to clearly and consistently communicate the status of our district.
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we keep our focus on keeping our students safe.
