Construction Continues at the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus
Thanks to a mild winter in northern Ohio, construction at the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus has been progressing. Many Lakesiders have been able to see the new facility take shape while visiting the site or viewing pictures on our
. The progress has truly been exciting!
Pool & Entry Buildings
Contractors have completed the underground utility connections, foundation and walls for the pool and entry buildings. Concrete floors have been poured and are setting. The pool building roof is being framed, while the entry building is completely framed and awaiting the delivery of the metal roof.
Simultaneously, contractors have been removing rock from the pool area. The removal has gone according to plan, without encountering any challenges, which has been fortunate from both a timeline and budget perspective. The underground pipe connections have been placed. The foundation for the pool walls is complete and ready for the installation of the walls. Standing by the site, you can begin to see the size of the pool, which will be roughly 6,000 square feet.
Construction has started at the Wellness Center, which sits at the southeast corner of the site. Rock removal is finished, and piping for the underground utility connections to the building is in place. Foundation for the building walls has been poured and is completed. To support the open floor plan for the wellness hall, large wooden beams have already been ordered because of their longer delivery time. The next steps will be the underground piping for plumbing and electrical wiring within the building and the pouring of the floor slab.
