STATIC CONTROL FLOORING

Grounding ESD flooring

What is grounding? It’s a process of directing the charge from flooring away from sensitive electronic components. Without grounding, static buildup can still discharge unpredictably, potentially damaging microchips, circuit boards, and other electronic equipment. And it’s something you need to do even if you have have ESD flooring.

Additionally, many industries, including electronics manufacturing and healthcare, follow ESD control standards such as ANSI/ESD S20.20 and IEC 61340. Proper grounding ensures you’re in compliance with these regulations. It also reduces liability risks and maintains quality control.

In the short video above, SelecTech’s Tom Ricciardelli demonstrates two methods of grounding ESD flooring. Check it out.

Electronics Manufacturing and Repair

For many manufacturers, manufacturing volumes are high and production is 24/7. Failures due to ESD events can be devastating. Having a reliable ESD Protected Area (EPA) is critical and often required by the end-users of the products being made.
