A significant milestone for Brimar
|
"I am delighted to share a significant milestone in Brimar's recent progress. For those unfamiliar with this affiliated company, here's a brief history outlined in an article I penned some time ago.
"Roy Hollyer, currently on secondment from LabLogic to oversee operations at the Bromsgrove factory, has been leading a dedicated team of volunteers in the meticulous reconstruction of ancient machinery and the construction of new equipment over the past few years. We have now successfully reached the point where we are manufacturing valves for commercial sale, marking a noteworthy achievement as the first UK production of its kind since approximately 1985. These R-type valves will be marketed under the brand name EdiSwan. The original EdiSwan company, a collaboration between Englishman Swan and American Edison, was the pioneer in serious valve production.
"Our choice of the R-type valve is driven by its simplicity, facilitating the relearning of essential skills and adaptation to modern Health and Safety requirements. While there may be only a modest commercial demand for these valves, the success achieved lays a strong foundation for our upcoming ventures. Specifically, the demand for superior quality in our next lines, audio triodes and pentodes, far surpasses what the Chinese market currently provides.
"Congratulations to Roy and the entire team!"

Ashvin secures a sale for the Hidex ULLA at Los Alamos
|
Sales Manager Ashvin Boodhun has completed a sale with the Los Alamos National Laboratory for a Hidex ULLA. The Hidex ULLA addresses the increasing demand for a truly low-level liquid scintillation counter in absense of the old QUANTULUS 1220.
Los Alamos National Laboratory (the same place in which the atom bomb was invented as seen in the recent film Oppenheimer) will use the ULLA for tritium urine bioassay testing. Since the lab sits elevated within a mountain range, background counts for radiation is also elevated. The ULLA will therefore enable them to count very low levels of Tritium in personnel's urine for safety applications.
Well done, Ashvin!
