July 2, 2025

Happy Independence Day! As we prepare to celebrate our great country this weekend, it’s a perfect time to reflect on those that have fought and protected our freedoms for decades. One of my favorite hymns reminds us to focus on things that bring brightness to our land, our world, our communities, our families, and our great nation.

(4) Our fathers' God, to thee,

Author of liberty,

To thee we sing;

Long may our land be bright

With freedom's holy light;

Protect us by thy might,

Great God, our King.

Thank you for those that have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

A special thank you to the City of Grove and the Convention and Tourism Bureau for their work in the recruitment of last weeks student fishing tournament. The Chamber has been fielding phone calls regarding travel to the region for nearly one year. We made referrals around the clock for weeks and have enjoyed getting to know these visitors from across the nation. We passed out over 400 shopping passports in one day! The economic impact from this event was felt across multiple counties and neighboring states. They were everywhere and it was fantastic! Great job to everyone that helped.

If you have not registered for the Chamber’s Annual Gala, please call us today. This will be held on Thursday, July 17th at Shangri-La Resort. We will honor and award businesses, organizations, and leadership from across the lake region. Come join us for a night of celebration.

The Chamber officially closed out of fiscal year this week. We are excited to share our updated program of work for 2025-2026 in future newsletters and invite you to find a place to join us in serving this community and region. We are excited for the future of Grand Lake.

Enjoy your week,

~ Amanda
