December 10, 2025

When you choose to shop local, you do more than make a purchase — you invest in the future of your community. National studies show that nearly 68% of every dollar spent at a locally owned business stays right here at home, supporting local jobs, services, and nonprofits — compared to less than half when spent at national chains.

Shopping locally also helps preserve the unique character of our community. Locally owned restaurants, retailers, and service providers give our town its personality, sense of place, and hometown pride — things that simply cannot be replicated by big-box stores or online retailers. These businesses sponsor local events, support youth programs, and give back generously during times of need because this community is their home, too.

Most importantly, keeping dollars local strengthens long-term economic stability. Communities with a healthy base of locally owned businesses are more adaptable during economic challenges and better positioned for future growth.

This season — and all year long — we encourage you to make a conscious decision to shop, dine, and do business locally whenever possible. Every purchase, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can ensure our community remains vibrant, strong, and thriving for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Shop Grand Lake Holiday Experience and our participating businesses this season. We’re grateful for the community support that makes initiatives like this possible, and we encourage you to stay connected with the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce as we move into an exciting 2026 together.

See you at the parade this Saturday!

Have a great week,

~ Amanda
