The Parkinson's Support Group meets on the second Thursday each month at 2:00 p.m. The meeting is open to YMCA members & non-members. Caregivers are encouraged to attend. If you or someone you know has Parkinson's, there is a Parkinson's Combination Exercise Class and Speech Therapy Class that meets every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 in the YMCA's downstairs group fitness room. There are chair exercises for the body and speech exercise to strengthen the voice and the muscles used for swallowing. The class is free.

RIBBON CUTTING
Abundant Hope Family Center
A Ribbon Cutting was held by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Thursday, April 4, 2024, for Abundant Hope Family Center. Director Kellie McCorkle spoke about her vision to encourage, educate & empower families to self-sufficiency. The organization offers pregnancy support, including ultrasounds; family education and support; foster care support and recruiting more foster homes; and children's' clothes, toys, and supplies. Jay Health Department will be offering WIC, Sooner Care, and Sooner Start programs from this facility. Kellie stated that their current donation need is 2T-5T children's summer clothes. Christian Help Center Food Pantry
Thursday, April 4th, the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting at Christian Help Center Food Pantry, 1703 E Highway 10, Grove, OK. Pat Dalke has been working with the center for the last 10 years of the over 25 years that it has been open and servicing the Grand Lake area. The pantry receives food from individuals and food drives around the area, the Tulsa Food Bank program, and our local Walmart and Harps. Stop by if you are in need of food, would like to donate food, or can volunteer to help. Pat and the other volunteers are thankful for the community's support and we are thankful to have a local food pantry and for the volunteers and their hard work!
