RIBBON CUTTING
Zen Monkey RV Retreat
A Ribbon Cutting was held on Monday, April 24, 2023, by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors for Zen Monkey RV Retreat, located at 55988 E. 260 Rd. on Monkey Island. Owners Rick and Drema Stiffler, both Texas natives, purchased the property in 2022 and officially opened for campers in July of last year. The location of Zen Monkey had originally been that of another RV Park, but the property had been neglected for over a decade when the Stiffler’s purchased it. After some repairs and TLC given to the area, the new home of Zen Monkey RV Retreat is tranquil and peaceful yet still modern and updated with all that the RV camper could need. Zen Monkey has 18 full-hook-up RV spots, a pavilion for events, volleyball net, fire pit, fishing pond, laundry facilities and a bathhouse. They provide Wi-Fi and are pet friendly (leashed, of course). They even have a VRBO rental camper available! Rick and Drema are still expanding the park amenities to include a nearly finished boat and RV storage facility and, in the future, tent camping areas and a playground area for kids. The Stiffler’s have fallen in love with Monkey Island and the Grand Lake area and feel as though the residents in the area are like a little “family” of kind, helpful people enjoying the lake life.
Ambassadors attending the Ribbon Cutting were Sherri Devitt-Hilton – Legacy Real Estate, Nick Bowers – Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative/BOLT Internet, TJ Burden – Grove’s Party Station and Steve Odle – Grand Savings Bank. Also attending the Ribbon Cutting was Rick and Drema Stiffler, Zen Monkey owners, Ceedar and Roni Donnell, Zen Monkey Property Managers, Tara Tacklind and Nicole Hutchinson – Shangri-La Resort and Connie King – Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice-President.
