The Parkinson's Support Group meets on the second Thursday each month at 2:00 p.m. The meeting is open to YMCA members & non-members. Caregivers are encouraged to attend. If you or someone you know has Parkinson's, there is a Parkinson's Combination Exercise Class and Speech Therapy Class that meets every Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 in the YMCA's downstairs group fitness room. There are chair exercises for the body and speech exercise to strengthen the voice and the muscles used for swallowing. The class is free.
Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Pedaling for Parkinson’s (PFP) Program also free to members & non-members.

RIBBON CUTTING
The Monkey Bar
A Ribbon Cutting was held by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Thursday, April 18, at The Monkey Bar, 55950 E. 290 Road, Monkey Island, OK. New owners, sisters, Trisha and Rebecca Orr and their parents, Kathleen and Tony Trussell opened the Monkey Bar last week. This local friendly hang out offers drinks, 3 pool tables, shuffle board, darts, Friday night DJ/Karaoke, and scheduled live music. They have a beautiful dance floor and big screens for sporting events. The bar is non-smoking but they do have a smoking patio. Their Grand Opening is this weekend with live music Saturday night featuring Michael Wayne, 9pm-1am, no cover charge, and a food truck will be available.

Northeast Tech Grove
The Grove Area and Miami Area Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting Friday, July 12th at the new Northeast Tech Business & Industry Services Incubator during their Open House. This new site is located at 8705 US Hwy 59 N. in Grove. Roger Crutchfield and Megan Edwards spoke to the group about the new facility and the service they will provide to our community. They have 5 incubator spaces for new businesses to launch, receiving coaching and services for success. Northeast Tech's business trainers are Rebekah King, Deana Spencer and Eillee Patuto. Thank you to everyone that attending the event. We are excited and fortunate to have this new resource!

The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a Ribbon Cutting Friday, July 12th at Ladies Only Club Fitness. Kimberly Springsguth has dreamed of opening a fitness center where ladies can have a safe place with a sense of belonging & acceptance, peace, and wellness. The facility is open 24/7 and includes Cardio Equipment, Treadmills, Ellipticals, Stationary Bikes, Arc Trainer, Strength Conditioning Machines, Power Plates w/Video Workouts, Tanning Beds, a Shower, and a Relaxation Lounge. Pine Island RV Resort
A Ribbon Cutting was held on a beautiful afternoon, Friday, July 12th, by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at Pine Island RV Resort. This member owned, 144 acre private vacation facility, for use by members, guests and non-member campers is located at 32501 S. 571 Road, Jay, OK. Pine Island offers a boat ramp, fishing docks, an indoor & outdoor swimming pool, tennis & pickleball courts, an activity center, and so much more. They will be celebrating their 40 Year Anniversary on August 3rd. Their mission is to "make camping affordable for families".
