2019 Annual Banquet - Roaring 20s Style!

The 2019 Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet came roaring in Thursday, July 18 with a “Roaring 20s” theme at Big Shots on Monkey Island. Guest speaker Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell spoke about tourism in our great state of Oklahoma with an emphasis on Grand Lake. Special awards were presented by GACC president Donnie Crain for to Michael Hart for Ambassador of the Year; Louise Templin for Volunteer of the Year; and Kim Shearer for Director of the Year. Special plaques were given to three outgoing board directors – Angela Hamilton, Grand River Abstract & Title Co.; Sandra Martin, Apex Title & Closing Services; and Wanda Endicott, Grove Ice & Iron. Outgoing Chairman Kim Shearer. Grand Country Pest Control presented the gavel to 2019/2020 Chairman Amy Napier, First National Bank. Ellen O’Dell, Ferra Aerospace will remain Treasurer and Elizabeth West, Grand Lake Mental Health Center is Incoming Chairman.
Yard of the Month
Congrats go to Carlene & Jay Newton for being selected for the June Yard of the Month. With hibiscus and petunias in full bloom as well as numerous other plant species, their yard is beautifully hopping with the bright colors of summer. Their efforts at "Making a Difference" are very much appreciated.

The goal of the Yard of the Month program is to recognize the efforts of residents who take pride in their landscaping inspiring others to do the same.

Nominations for the July yard of the month are being accepted and need to be turned in to the Chamber office by July 31.

On hand to present the sign were  Donnie Crain , president of Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and  Louise Templin  with the Garden Club and the Chamber's Beautification Committee.
Friday, August 9th - testing from Noon - 5 pm. Saturday, August 10th - racing from Noon - 5:30 pm. Sunday, August 11th - racing from Noon - 4 pm. Come and enjoy "The Greatest Show on Water" featuring 65 boats from 15 states competing for points in the National Boat Racing Association. At Grove's Wolf Creek Park.
