TRIVIA NIGHT
BOOM @ The Regatta
Gather 'round, trivia buffs! The 3rd Annual Biz to Biz Trivia Night at Boom @ The Regatta was a rollicking good time. If you weren’t there – you missed out! The competition was fierce but friendly as teams of business-savvy hustlers put their collective brains to the test. Grand Savings Bank snagged first place in the competition with Local Bank falling close behind them in second place. “Four Blonds” showed up for third place……. and “Stood Up” took last in the competition. Winners won Chamber Bucks to spend at local businesses and gift certificates to The Regatta, while “Stood Up” won a gift set of alcohol samples to drown their sorrows. All in all, it was a raucous evening filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a noisy dose of healthy competition. We can't wait until next year's event - start brushing up on your random factoids now!
Thank you to everyone that came out to support the Chamber’s Biz to Biz team! Special thanks to Teresa Poindexter and her crew at Boom for a great evening, Cindy Hefner for all of the hard work she put in on planning this event, Connie King and Kelly Whitehead for running trivia sheets, and to Shangri-La's Mike Williams for being a stellar MC!
Chamber Connection Luncheon
The Grove Area Chamber of Commerce held its Chamber Connection Luncheon on Thursday, May 11th at the Grove City Hall Community Center. The special guest speaker for this luncheon was Jill McAbee, Executive Director of the Delaware County Children's Special Advocacy Network (DCCSAN). She was accompanied by DCCSAN children’s therapist Jesse Stapleton. They spoke passionately about their organization and its mission: “…to minimize the trauma to child victims during the investigation and prosecution of cases, and to improve the system’s response to child abuse and neglect by uniting the efforts of public agencies and enlisting community support.” We would like to thank Jill, Jesse and DCCSAN for being our guest speakers and, most importantly, for the work they do in and for our community. We would also like to thank Steve and Anita Williams of Williams Homes, Janet Pierce-Smith of The Posh Pelican, and Individual Member Louise Templin for sponsoring the delicious lunch from Honey Creek BBQ.
Our next Chamber Connection Luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 8 with Carol LaRue as the guest speaker and Grand River Abstract & Title Co. as the lunch sponsor.
