RIBBON CUTTING
America's Boating Club - Grand Lake
A Ribbon Cutting was held by the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors on Thursday, May 18, 2023, for America's Boating Club - Grand Lake in honor of Safe Boating Week: May 20th – 26th, 2023. The Ribbon Cutting was held at the Wolf Creek Park lifejacket pole, one of five borrow-able lifejacket poles located all around North Grand Lake. These lifejacket stations are provided to the community by America’s Boating Club via generous donations from the club members, the Grand River Dam Authority, Grove Rotary Club and the general public. America’s Boating Club Grand Lake was founded in 2000 and, while they work to educate the public on all aspects of boating and water safety, their main focus is the importance of lifejackets. Membership with America’s Boating Club is open to all (even if you don’t own a boat!), has monthly member meetings and offers many benefits to the Grand Lake-lover. Donations to the lifejacket program are always welcome.
Chamber Ambassadors attending the Ribbon Cutting were Jamie Johnson – Grove Nursing Center, Sharie Cox – Grove's Royal Liquor, John Sawyer – Sawyer-Phillips Insurance, Judi Johnson - McGraw Realtors, Liza Hardesty – Grand River Abstract & Title Co., Angela Hamilton – Grand River Abstract & Title Co., Jay Alexander – Grand Savings Bank and Jacob Wallace – FirsTitle. America’s Boating Club members attending the Ribbon Cutting were Roger and Julie Jones, Harvey and Marge Blattner, Ken and Myra Noteboom (who are also Chamber Ambassadors), Clayton Hale and Mina Herren – Hale, Larry Stout and Commander Margaret Miller. Also attending was Connie King – Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice-President.
Do you have a neighbor that takes care of their yard like no one else? Or perhaps you drive by some gorgeous landscaping on your way to work that makes you smile? If so, nominate them for the Grove Area Chamber of Commerce's "Yard of the Month" and they could win some great stuff! Call, come by or email the chamber the address (and name/phone number if you can) of the Grove area home that you want to nominate.
