Greetings City of Grover Beach,
Welcome to the inaugural edition of the City’s monthly electronic newsletter,
Grover Gazette
! We are delighted to introduce this new tool to help inform our community about City issues, services, and projects, and the employees who serve Grover Beach. In the past, the City had a quarterly newsletter,
Seabreeze
, that served as an important way of connecting with our community. The
Grover Gazette
builds on this foundation using a modern electronic format design that can be easily distributed through email, the City website, social media platforms, and other ways.
This is an extraordinary time for all of us. In the first half of 2020, we have experienced a global health crisis, a sudden and significant economic downturn, and societal unrest tied to an appalling use of force by police officers against a person of color in Minneapolis. These moments have been unprecedented, but I am proud of our City Council and City employees in addressing these critical issues while continuing to provide services that our community expects. The work of the City continues every day in improving our infrastructure, keeping our neighborhoods safe, growing our economy, and providing housing for our residents. We are also in a solid financial position, with a balanced budget and no reductions in services despite the growing cost of meeting identified community needs.
Grover Beach is a strong and resilient community with a “can do” vibe as embodied by the #GBtogether social media campaign. The
Grover Gazette
will tap into this community spirit and share what the City is doing to help support you. Let us know if you have any feedback at
cityhall@groverbeach.org
or (805) 473-4550. Thanks for reading!
Sincerely,
Matthew Bronson
City Manager
