WCF & WCSWCD:

Building a More Sustainable Warren County

The Warren County Foundation is proud to partner with the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District (WCSWCD) to support local conservation and environmental education efforts.

Together, the organizations have helped develop opportunities for Warren County residents to learn about practical conservation practices and see how small changes can make a lasting difference in our community.

One example of this partnership is the Urban Conservation Learning Lab (UCLL) in Lebanon.

Urban Conservation Learning Lab

Located next to the Warren County Foundation, the Urban Conservation Learning Lab is a hands-on space where conservation comes to life.

Developed through a partnership between WCF and WCSWCD, the UCLL features working examples of conservation practices, including:

  • Rain gardens
  • Composting systems
  • Water conservation practices
  • Other environmentally friendly solutions

Visitors can explore these examples and learn how simple conservation practices can be incorporated into their own homes, yards, and communities.

Featured Grantee: Family Promise

Family Promise of Warren County is a recent recipient of a grant through the WCF Environmental Fund.

Grant funding supported their pollinator pathway and garden initiative to help Warren County families that are experiencing homelessness.

"Family Promise of Warren County is overwhelmed by the generous support of the Warren County Foundation Environmental Fund for our Storybook Garden Path - Pollinator pathway, garden and educational experience. This project is not only important to the environment, but it is an opportunity for children as a hands-on educational tool that also improves focus, reduces anxiety and fosters environmental stewardship. The garden also teaches the children responsibility and patience through this outdoor experience. We appreciate this special opportunity for the growth and expansion of this project!"
