Cultivating Access, Ownership, and Opportunity
The Hemp Specialty Crop Program for Entrepreneurs is a Supporting Healthy Families (SHF) economic empowerment initiative designed to expand access, ownership, and opportunity within the growing hemp industry. Through hands-on education, agricultural training, and business development support, participants gain the practical skills, industry knowledge, and resources needed to build sustainable enterprises and create pathways to generational wealth.
Rooted in the belief that communities deserve equitable access to emerging agricultural markets, this program helps address barriers to land access, capital, and entrepreneurship. Participants develop leadership skills, strengthen economic stability, and create lasting impact for their families and communities.
Classes have just begun, but there's still time to join. New participants are being welcomed now, making this the perfect opportunity to get involved while the program is still in its early stages. By enrolling today, you'll be able to quickly get up to speed, connect with instructors and fellow entrepreneurs, and begin accessing the training, resources, and support designed to help you succeed.
The hemp industry continues to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, and taking action now can position you to benefit from this growing market. Don't miss your chance to be part of this transformative program. Enrollment is open, and spots are filling quickly.
More than a training program, this initiative cultivates self-determination, community wealth, and economic opportunity. Join today and take the next step toward ownership, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic growth for yourself, your family, and your community.

Since our last newsletter, we've been hard at work preparing for the growing season. While this spring has been cooler than last year, it has also brought more intense weather swings. We've experienced periods of very dry conditions followed by heavy rainfall and storms. Aside from an early-season frost, our crops have remained resilient, and we're excited to see them taking off as temperatures warm.
As we move into summer, we are entering one of the busiest times of the year with harvesting and weeding underway. These essential tasks keep our team busy, but they also bring us closer to our goal of providing fresh, nutritious food to our community.
We are incredibly grateful for the support we've received from generous partners and neighbors. Special thanks to Keene Garlic, The Farley Center, UW Extension, and our wonderful farm neighbors Jen, Chandy, Juan, and Jennica. Whether through donated plants and supplies, sharing equipment, lending a tractor, or simply offering encouragement, this community continues to help make our work possible. Their support reminds us that growing food is truly a collective effort.
A Sneak Peek at What's Next
We're excited to share an early look at Primrose Valley Farm and future plans for expanded programming, educational opportunities, volunteer days, and community events at a new farm location in Belleville, just 30 minutes from Urban Triage's Park Street office.
This new space has incredible potential to deepen our impact, expand food production, create more opportunities for community engagement, and build stronger connections between people and the land. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements, tours, volunteer opportunities, and special events as we continue bringing this vision to life.
