COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic to Open at Cape Cod Community College |

"The Cape Cod COVID-19 Response Task Force has announced the establishment of the Cape Cod Regional Vaccine Consortium. It will expand vaccination infrastructure across Cape Cod, beginning with the addition of a vaccination site at Cape Cod Community College.
The consortium is a collaborative of health care providers, county government and municipalities across the Cape that aims to deliver vaccine doses to the region’s most vulnerable residents. Cape Cod Healthcare will run the new vaccination site at 4C’s, leveraging their experience running other sites such as the Melody Tent in Hyannis."

Public Forum: Town of Barnstable Proposed Sewer Assessment Ordinance

The health of Barnstable’s coastal waters that is so vital to the Town’s quality of life and local economy is at risk. The primary source of the problem is nitrogen pollution from septic systems.
Building on more than a decade of scientific study and engineering design, the Town has put forward a Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) to protect coastal, inland, and drinking water resources. The Town’s plan calls for sewers and other measures to be implemented over 30 years, at a total cost of $1.4 billion. The Town has identified existing revenues to cover more than half of this cost. A Sewer Assessment Ordinance is being proposed to finance a portion of the remaining cost.
A proposal for a Sewer Assessment Ordinance to finance a portion of the cost to construct the sewer expansion will be presented for community discussion at a series of virtual public forums.
Mark Ells, Barnstable Town Manager, will present the proposed sewer assessment ordinance, along with Daniel Santos (Director, Department of Public Works) and Mark Milne (Finance Director).

Bringing perennial plants into the garden can help your garden become more resilient and beautiful. Ruth Green of Green Arts Gardens in the Berkshires will inspire us to consider the ecological benefits and design ideas when planning our perennial plantings.
During this event we will learn how to provide shelter, food, and habitat for wildlife including beneficial insects; introduce windbreaks and create continuity between garden and forest; improve soil conditions; and choose native species and sources for plants and seeds.
