Growing Home offers Collaborative Coaching for long-term family self-sufficiency and economic stability by identifying short-term barriers to success and setting goals to overcome them. One of our Collaborative Coaching participants,
Martha, started the Collaborative Coaching program in 2019. Martha started the program due to unfortunate circumstances: the unexpected death of her husband. After hearing about Martha's situation, one of Growing Home's Collaborative Coaches, Daniel Dominguez, informed Martha about the program. She accepted the help and knew that her first goal would be to get mental health support for her whole family. Martha also set an employment goal to keep the family financially stable. After setting this goal, she managed to get two jobs and was able to keep the family finances going strong. The family set a savings goal as well and was able to secure a months-worth of expenses in their savings account. Martha is currently working on a physical health goal, and is on track to complete that goal by the end of next month. While it is not uncommon for us to see these types of accomplishments with our families, Martha’s story is truly inspirational.
