HUNGER RELIEF

Responding to a Growing Need for Food

Since 1980, Land's Sake has donated fresh produce to feed people in need. Today, Land's Sake donates 30% of everything grown on the farm to provide hunger relief throughout the region. As the farm's operations have grown, so have donations, more than doubling over the past 5 years.

Land's Sake is at full donation capacity for 2025, and will donate thousands of pounds of fresh produce weekly, via eight local partners who distribute food to 500,000 local people in need.

With federal cuts abruptly reducing food distributions to area food banks, the need for food in our communities is growing.

Recently, a number of local food pantries and meal programs have reached out to Land's Sake looking for fresh food donations, and some existing partners are asking for increased donations. Land's Sake is making plans to invest in additional staffing and resources for 2026, in order to increase donation capacity going forward. Continued growth will depend on farm staffing, the weather (of course!) and community support.

FARMSTAND

Eat Your Greens!

Land's Sake is bursting with nutrient-dense spring greens, pound for pound offering so many health benefits. Incorporating greens into everyday dishes will increase the fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in your diet. Visit the farmstand for freshly harvested arugula, collards, kale, mixed greens, spinach, and tatsoi. Enjoy your greens raw, steamed, sautéed, or in soup, pasta, or salad. All greens are grown locally, without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.

** Alert: Afternoon Farm Parking, Weds-Thurs **

The parking lot will be extra busy Wednesday and Thursday after 5pm, due to Land's Sake's Solstice Dinner events at the farm. Please plan your visits early in the day if possible.

SUPPORT

Growing Education Opportunities for All

Land's Sake's annual Summer Solstice Dinners fundraise to provide essential support for education programs, keeping learning on the farm accessible and inclusive.

“My daughter absolutely

loved Land's Sake. She especially enjoyed being outdoors with the

animals — especially the chickens. The experience truly helped build her

confidence and personal growth in such a beautiful, natural way."

With generous donor support, Land's Sake educators are growing opportunities for unplugged learning on the farm and in the community.
