Growing Number of States Relax Cocktail To-Go Regulations
As the pandemic continues to negatively impact the hospitality industry, a number of states have taken up the topic of alcohol to-go and delivery regulations. There is pending cocktail-to-go legislation in Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas and Virginia, according to the Distilled Spirits Council of the US.
Some of the most notable updates include Virginia extending its cocktail-to-go laws through July 2022, while the Illinois legislature approved the creation of a third-party facilitators license to allow a retailer to deliver alcoholic liquors directly to consumer.
