In light of recent updates, Hyannis Country Garden would like you to know that we are doing our due diligence to thwart the spread of Covid-19. Unfortunately, one of those things was to cancel our Employee Training Day and all talks through April. A lot of work and preparation went into these and we are really very sad about this, but it is the right thing to do.
We at HCG are taking precautionary actions to lessen exposure and reduce the impact of the Coronavirus on our customers and employees. The store is cleaned by a professional crew once a week, and our employees are doing it daily. Hand sanitizers are available to all employees and customers, the credit card terminals and stations are being wiped down continuously through the day as well as carts and doors, and we are asking employees to wash hands thoroughly and regularly. All HCG Employees are directed to stay home if they or a family member are sick.
We are open and doing deliveries of pet food, birdseed, and plants. We believe that gardening is safe and encouraged to help break the boredom of being stuck at home. We are doing curbside pickup - order ahead, just call the store.
We are all trying very hard to stay where our feet are planted, and perhaps, it gives us a chance to do some planting.
I dug out my supplies to start seedlings. I do need a few new things, like fresh soil, and I want to try some new seed varieties from our vast choices here at HCG. I already have the trays, and a grow light, now I need to set up space for it.
Other things that are working for me are planning tasks and gathering supplies for projects to do at home. I dragged out my drawing pens and pencils, to make
and help myself get centered. I've already organized one closet and plan on doing two more.
In keeping with that positive attitude, after reading C.L.'s Post this week, I feel armed with great information on what and when to seed. This is a welcomed focus for me and helps tame the growing worry in my head.
Control what you can, let go of what you can't. Take care of each other and yourself.
Let's not forget: It is the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!! ♥
