This Month In The Garden

As VGN begins planning our gardens we wanted to take a moment to share our favorite garden planning software, Grow Veg. Grow Veg allows you to set your garden footprint, bed measurements and add features like trellises, fences, and picnic tables. Once your garden is laid out you are able to pick and choose your desired plants (vegetables, flowers, herbs, perennials) and it will tell you how many plants can fit in each bed along with planting tips for each variety.

Grow Veg does require a yearly subscription of $35 but has a 30-day free trial that can help you decide if this garden planning option works for you.

What's New in Collective Gardening?

Registration is now OPEN for VGN's two Collective Gardens, Seedsong and Starr, both located in Burlington. Members join for the season from April to October and participate in weekly work shifts. All collective garden members receive weekly harvests (vegetables, herbs & flowers) and mentorship to manage a beautifully productive garden. Read more and register on our website.

SAVE THE DATE! Next Collective Gardening Community of Practice Winter Skill Share: March 12th from 5:30-7pm.

Gather with a group of people who share a passion for collective gardening, to share lessons learned and to glean ideas for unique challenges and opportunities. Participation in the Collective Gardening Community of Practice is open to everyone, from everywhere, and with all levels of experience in gardening or collectivism.

Cooking and Eating Local Veggies!

We love this farm-to-table cookbook by sisters Nora & Jenna Rice. All the ingredients are Vermont grown. Nutrients are flavors you can taste.

Also, Nora's restaurant, Seasoned Skillet, just opened in Randolph this month using many of the cookbook recipes. Support local!
