Plant Perennials Now to Support Pollinators

Thanks to support from the City of Burlington Conservation Legacy Fund, we are adding a Pollinator Strip to our Seedsong collective garden. We partnered with Woolf Den Homestead; a landscape design business and perennial nursery to consult on the plant palette, layout design, and source 150+ plants.

Now we are looking for helping hands to dig holes, transplant the perennials, and deeply mulch with wood chips. As always, City Market members can use this project time as volunteer credit to receive discounts on grocery purchases.

Thursday, October 16 - Perennial Planting

1-3pm or 3-5pm at Seedsong Collective Garden, in the Intervale.

Collective Gardening in the News

Building Community in Vermont and Canada

We were honored to be featured in Vermont Public's recent story about the growing Collective Gardening movement.

At the Depot Community Food Centre in Montreal, "This is the “mixité sociale” — a French term that refers to people from diverse backgrounds coming together in a space — that collective gardens cultivate." The benefit is not only nutritional health but therapeutic and mental health as well.
