Growing in Faith and Knowledge:

Empowering Futures Through Mentorship!

Dear Laura,

Hands of Love Foundation does more than provide education to vulnerable youth in Uganda. One of our key values is for students to be in Christian schools and to provide comprehensive Mentorship Classes in addition to their traditional schooling. These mentorship sessions are making an incredible impact in the lives of vulnerable students in Uganda, providing more than just academic support. These mentorship programs are fostering holistic growth in the students’ physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual lives.

The theme for 2025, "God Loves You" (John 15:9), has been central to the sessions, with the students learning about the unconditional love of God through verses like John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Key to these mentorship sessions is encouraging students to accept Jesus as their Savior, build a deeper relationship with Him, and live out their faith by embracing the Word of God.

The sessions also included powerful teachings on body image, self-esteem, and how to treat others with kindness, encouraging students to foster positive environments at school, home, and within their communities.

For our college/university students, special sessions were held to address the unique challenges they face, including life crises, frustration, and the importance of mentorship and accountability in navigating those difficulties. The students were reminded that Christ is always there to support them, no matter what challenges they face.

This month's mentorship also offered practical support, such as providing sanitary ware for the girls, which was received with great excitement and gratitude. Additionally, one-on-one counseling sessions were available to provide personal support for students who needed someone to talk to.

Overall, the mentorship sessions have led to profound changes in the students’ behavior, spiritual growth, and academic performance. It is inspiring to see how these young people are thriving, with their lives being transformed through God’s love and the guidance they receive. These sessions are truly making a lasting difference, and the foundation is proud to witness their growth, both in faith and in education.

2nd Annual Summer Camp:

Preparations Underway

As we prepare for our upcoming summer camp in June, we are excited to continue the work of nurturing vulnerable children in Uganda, both spiritually and academically. This year’s camp theme is "Jesus Loves Me" (John 15:9), reminding our students of the unwavering love Christ has for them. Through mentorship, we’ve already seen how embracing this truth transforms their lives—instilling hope, faith, and a deep sense of belonging. Camp will provide an opportunity for these young minds to grow further in their relationship with Jesus, building on the foundation of spiritual, emotional, and educational growth that we’ve cultivated together.

Please be on the lookout for the official summer camp fundraising newsletter in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, will you begin to prayerfully consider how you will be a part of making summer camp possible this year? Through your financial contributions, sharing about our work with your friends, family and Church or hosting a fundraiser yourself, you can be an important part of this year's camp. It is a big ask; but it is an even bigger impact in the lives of the children we serve.

Together, we can empower these students to live out the truth that Jesus Loves Me and help them build a brighter future.
