JUNE 2015
FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

D ear Members,

Thanks to all who attended the 2015 Signature Speaker Series. Dr. Altig's unique blend of information and humor were a hit, just as they were in 2011.

Who would you like to hear from? We are looking forward to hosting member luncheons in 2015 and would appreciate your input on possible speakers. Email Sage if you have any suggestions or ideas to share.

Finally, I would like to bring your immediate attention to the first item below. We have a short turnaround on getting our comments in the Planning Director Frank Duke on the current draft Landscape regulations that are being updated. We truly appreciate your taking time to review and reply with pertinent comments by this Friday.

Best to all,

Larry S. Bankston

YOUR INPUT NEEDED: FUTUREBR IMPLEMENTATION TEAM REVISING LANDSCAPE ORDINANCES

After several meetings and great progress working with Planning Director Frank Duke and consultant John Fregonese on revisions to the Baton Rouge's parking ordinances in the Unified Development Code (UDC), we are moving on to assist with revisions in the
Landscape, Clearing and Tree section of the UDC. Last week several BRGC board members met with members of the Planning Commission, Duke's staff, and FIT personnel to review the current draft and discuss.

We ask that you take a few moments to review the current draft and report back with your valued comments on these important regulations by FRIDAY.

A current draft of "Chapter 18: Landscape, Clearing and Trees" in PDF can be read  here with corresponding Character Area map here.  A summary Powerpoint in PDF provided by the FutureBR Implementation Team, can be viewed  here .

Please email your input to Frank Duke at [email protected]  by 5p, this Friday, June 5th.

THANK YOU FOR A GREAT EVENT

Thanks to all who attended the 2015 Signature Speaker Series on May 11th, featuring Dr. David Altig, Executive VP and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. We received great feedback on the program; Dr. Altig's presentation was both entertaining and highly informative.

Thank you to our event partners:
