Growth and Blessings in Central America

Greetings Ministry Partners,

The Lord continues to bless the work in Central America. Our team really senses that God has very special plans for His work in Honduras. Pastor Otto Echeveria, the Guatemalan National Coordinator, and Andrés Hernandez were in El Progresso from September 15-23 to teach Book #3, New Testament Survey. This class now has 20 students, and we have already pinpointed several men in the class who can start teaching soon. Pastor Hamid Gutiérrez, Regional Coordinator for Guatemala, will be there in November to teach Book #4, and I will be there in February 2025 to teach Book #5.

In Guatemala, we have had another new class start this month, in addition to the several others that have begun since June. Hamid also held a Pastor Orientation this month in La Tinta in northern Guatemala. We are praying that this will produce new work in that area. Several pastors in the area are interested in becoming teachers and starting classes, but they are waiting for approval from their denominational leadership to give them permission to proceed.

Guatemala

Things are going well in Guatemala. Last month, Hamid traveled to the northern part of the county to see if we could open a new area for classes. Otto continues to encourage the remaining graduates to start classes. I will be in Guatemala in October to help with this effort.

Both Otto and Hamid have each visited and taught several classes in their area this month. Hamid continues to visit and encourage the new classes in Quetzaltenango.

Pastor Otto visited and taught the class in La Lima, Guatemala. They are studying Book #4.

Belize

Pastor Hamid Gutiérrez was in Belize City to teach Book #4 in October. He said, "Glory to God as I end a week of service to the Lord. Teaching on the Book #4 curriculum with a wonderful group of students was more than teaching because God brought me to learn. Belize is a beautiful country, and God has allowed us to meet very special families. Thanks to Andres Hernandez, a great travel and ministry partner."

Honduras

In mid-September, Pastor Otto and Andrés Hernandez traveled to Honduras to teach Book #3, focusing on the New Testament, to a class of 20 students in El Progresso.

The class is feeling encouraged and excited about what God has in store for them. Ray and Sandra McKenzie, along with Charlotte Hernandez, will be in El Progresso in October to schedule classes for next year. Sandra and Charlotte will also lead a Women's Conference. In November, Hamid will visit El Progresso to teach Book #4.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Pray for safe travels for Ray and Sandra as they travel to Honduras in October.
Pray for the Women's Conference that Sandra and Charlotte will conduct in October.
Pray that the Lord will raise up a local leader to oversee the ministry in Honduras.
Pray that the Lord will raise up a local leader in Belize to oversee the ministry.
Pray for Otto and Hamid, who will be making international teaching trips over the next three months.
Pray for Pastor Otto Echeverria. He will have surgery in October.
Pray for Pastor Otto's mother, who is having post-surgery complications in her left eye.
Pastor Hamid’s wife, Maritza, is suffering from terrible pain in her back. She is undergoing treatment, but it is not pleasant.
Pray for Pastor Joel, who is teaching a class in Bella Vista, Belize.
