HAGATNA, GUAM – The Guam Chamber of Commerce announced today that John Benavente, General Manager of the Guam Power Authority (GPA) will be the featured speaker at the Chamber General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Mr. Benavente will update the members on the status of the Okudu power plant, the cost of power, and GPA’s progress on being powered by 100% renewable energy.
The meeting will take place in the Micronesian Ballroom, at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa. Doors open at 11:15 a.m.
Additionally, the meeting will kick off the 2024 Toys for Tots campaign. Members and guests are encouraged to bring a new and unwrapped toy or gift item to the meeting. This annual toy collection program offers hope to a child in need at Christmas time. The Chamber is pleased to partner with Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz to organize and collaborate with various toy collection sites across the island. Companies interested in participating as a drop-off site for toys (for children ages 0 – 17) are encouraged to contact the Chamber office for details.
Registration for the September 25th meeting is required and must be received via email at info@GuamChamber.com.gu by 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 24th. Attendance for this event is $45 for Chamber members. Seating is limited and reservations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
