All students MUST be registered in the SWAY app prior to orientation
All SMA students and staff are required to complete the daily health screening on the SWAY medical app before entering the building. Please have your student download the app and register prior to orientation. CLICK HERE for instructions.
Bus Transportation from St. John Francis Regis
SMA offers morning transportation to school from St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. Pick-up will begin on Monday, August 31. Please have your student at St. Regis by 7:15 AM. The bus will pick up at 7:20 AM. All students riding the bus must wear a mask. CLICK HERE to sign up by August 27 to ride the bus.
Picture Day is Coming!
Students MUST be in uniform compliance. Check the Student Handbook for uniform guidelines.

Please note: when ordering pictures, you will not be able to view any proofs before picking out your package and paying. If you are unhappy with your pictures, they are 100% refundable. There will be a picture retake day later in the year if your student would like to have their picture retaken.

Limited Spectators at SMA Home Games
Due to COVID-19, the bleachers are going to look different at athletic games. In order to adhere to the mandated guidelines, each participant/athlete will be allotted 2 tickets for our home games. For away games, the number of spectators will vary depending on local government restrictions and will be shared prior to game day. Masks will be REQUIRED at all sporting events and 6 ft of physical distancing should be maintained between each household. Live streaming may be an option for various sports. Fall Play Auditions - August 31

Summer AP English Reading Requirements

Students enrolled in AP English classes for the 2020 - 2021 school year, please see the summer assignment HERE. This assignment should be completed by the first day of classes on August 28.

Parking Passes on Sale the Week of August 24
Every student who drives a car to school MUST purchase a parking pass. Seniors get first choice starting on Monday, August 24. Others may purchase starting on Tuesday, August 25. Please go to the Academic Office to obtain your pass. Students will need to provide their driver's license, proof of insurance and pay $40. Debit or credit card are preferred. SENIORS - Paint the Parking Spots
SMA seniors will have the opportunity to paint and personalize their parking space on campus! Cost is $30, which covers the cost of re-painting it at the end of the year. Seniors must complete a contract, submit their design, and have it approved prior to the painting days. CLICK HERE for instructions. New SMA Backpacks
We are excited to provide a backpack for our new students this year! The backpack has a padded pocket for MacBooks, as well as plenty of room for classroom necessities. The bag will be provided to all freshmen and transfer students and will be available for purchase for returning students from the Spirit Shop on a pre-order basis for $32. Students are being encouraged to keep their items with them through the day and this bag will provide extra space. To order please contact Anna Favrow at

Returning Students
This year you will need dress uniform attire for the weekly all school Mass which consists of the white oxford cloth shirt and tie for men and the white oxford cloth shirt and V-neck vest for women.  
Updates for the 2020 - 2021 School Year
Christian Service Projects require only 15 hours for the 2020 - 2021 school year due to COVID-19. Please check out approved sites HERE and be on the lookout for updated information regarding your CSP projects. No tangible approval form is necessary for the 2020 - 2021 school year.

Schedule Changes
Due to current requirements, we are not making unnecessary schedule changes. If a student has been placed in a wrong class, or has a duplicate class, we will work to make those changes, but changes due to interest of just changing your mind will not be reviewed.

Attention upperclassman: After school ride needed

Trash bags for sale
We have 13-gallon white, 39-gallon yellow and 55-gallon blue trash bags for sale for $12/roll. You may purchase at SMA Advancement Office during business hours.
St. John LaLande "Fore the Kids" Golf Tournament
St. John LaLande Catholic School will have their annual "Fore the Kids" golf tournament on Friday, September 18 at Adams Pointe Golf Course with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM. The proceeds from this event benefit the scholarship fund for St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School.
