Last Day to Earn a Dress Down Pass!
Guardian Bash Auction Donation Drop-Off December 11
As the holidays are approaching, so is our fourth annual Guardian Bash. And the theme for this year's annual dinner and auction is "Livin' it Up in Kansas City". The Guardian Bash task force has already begun work on SMA's largest fundraising event, and we need the participation of all SMA families to help to make it a success!

Auction donations are needed!
  • Donate an item, basket, electronics, art, jewelry, tools, home goods, service or sports tickets.
  • Contribute a gift card from your favorite local restaurant or retail store.
  • Offer something special, such as a unique experience or handmade gift that can't be easily purchased anywhere else.
  • Join with other families to provide larger items, baskets, trips or services.

Auction Drop-Off: Tomorrow, December 11, is the last day to earn a free spirit wear dress down pass. The Guardian Bash task force will be in front of the school from 7:30-8:30 AM collecting donations. All SMA families are encouraged to donate at least one item to the auction. For questions, please email

Staff Christmas Fund - Sponsored by the Parent Club
The SMA Parent Club is sponsoring a holiday gift-giving option this year for our dedicated teachers and staff. Parents and students, who want to express their appreciation this time of year, are invited to make a monetary donation to the Staff Christmas Fund instead of purchasing individual Christmas gifts. The fund will then be divided among the teachers and administration of our school. The staff has been very appreciative of these gifts in previous years, and many parents prefer the convenience of making a monetary donation rather than- shopping for several teachers’ gifts.

This is strictly a voluntary donation! Families may donate any amount they wish. Donations are held in strict confidence with information available to the Advancement Office for acknowledgement purposes only.

We have several ways you can contribute to the Staff Christmas Fund:
  • Cash - place the cash in an envelope labeled “Staff Christmas Fund” and place in the box at the front office (If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, please include your name.)
  • Check - send in a check made payable to SMA with “Staff Christmas Fund” in the memo and place it in the box at the front office
  • Venmo - send money through SMA’s new Venmo Account: @SMAParentClub. When you type that in, SMA's Director of Finance & Human Resources Jim Chladek’s name will come up and it is tied to the SMA account
  • Online - make a donation through our webpage Staff Christmas Fund

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
