Volunteer at Chiefs playoff games at Arrowhead
Please join other SMA volunteers in working concessions at Arrowhead during the upcoming playoff games. The money raised from the concession stands go directly to help The Guard booster club which supports SMA athletics and activities. Over $5,600 has been raised this season! 12 volunteers are needed each game. Simple training on Arrowhead policies required. Click HERE for more information.
Guardian Bash: March 27, 2021
Mark your calendar…the date of this year’s Guardian Bash has been changed to March 27, 2021. This annual dinner and auction is SMA’s largest fundraising event, and we need the support of all SMA families to make it a success! If you have not yet contributed to the auction, please CLICK HERE to view our wish list and consider donating an item.

Committee Volunteers Needed for the 2021 Guardian Bash

Stand Up For Life! Kansas City Rally for Life - January 29
Instead of going to the March for Life in Washington DC this year, SMA students are invited to participate in STAND UP FOR LIFE! - Kansas City Rally for Life - Friday, January 29 at St. Therese North in Parkville from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. All students in the KC-SJ diocese are invited to come to pray and learn about what we can do to stand up for life in our world today. Stand Up For Life is going to be an engaging morning of praise and worship, dynamic speakers, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass where you will be inspired and empowered to stand up for life.

Virtual A+ Program Monthly Meetings
Assistant Principal Page will offer virtual A+ Program Meetings at 6 pm on the third Tuesday of each month (excluding Spring Break in March). These meetings are casual, Q&A meetings where general information will be provided. Senior Yearbook Ads - Last Chance to Order!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Junior ACT - Deadline to register January 11

The Junior ACT Test will be offered here at SMA on March 2 for $55. The scores from this test are reportable to colleges and universities everywhere. All SMA Juniors must be registered to take the test by Monday, January 11.
If your Junior does NOT want to take the test on March 2 then please contact Mrs. Glasgow at tglasgow@smacatholic.org.
If Mrs. Glasgow does not hear from the student/parent by Monday, January 11, then she will register the student, and the parents will be billed $55 for the test.
Local Scholarship Opportunity for Seniors

Applications are now open for the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound senior attending a private high school in Lee’s Summit. (Last year the scholarship was won by our very own Colleen McNamara.) You do not have to live in Lee’s Summit to qualify. CLICK HERE to view the criteria and application.
Career and Technology School Programs Available

Sophomores and Juniors: Online applications have opened for all three programs from Summit Technology Academy (STA), Herndon Career Center (H-CC) and Southland CAPS. For more information about programs offered through these partner career schools CLICK HERE. Priority deadline for applications is February 16, 2021.

Juniors - the Coolidge Scholarship is now taking applications. Full-ride, four-year, merit based college scholarship is only available for juniors to apply! CLICK HERE for more information.

Support and Prayers for the May Family
Brooks and Susanna May are a former SMA family and have four children that currently attend Catholic schools in the area. Susanna was recently diagnosed with an advanced stage of renal cancer. Lee's Summit Cares Parenting Classes
Lee's Summit Cares is offering parenting classes and webinars. The classes are $55 and include a program manual that will be mailed to the participant. Scholarships are available to anyone residing in Eastern Jackson County. Webinars are free and recorded. CLICK HERE to view the upcoming classes and webinars.
