SMA Open House - October 24

Help us spread the word about our Open House on Saturday, October 24. Tours will be available from 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Due to Covid safety guidelines, registration is required. Please share this link with anyone you think may be interested in learning more about SMA OPEN HOUSE. Please contact the Advancement Office if you are willing to put a yard sign about SMA's Open House in your yard or at your church. Parent volunteers welcomed. Congratulations to seniors Emily Rogge and Caleb Berry for being crowned Homecoming Royalty during halftime of the football game on Friday, Oct 9. Other members of the court included:

The Guardian football team won the game against Southeast High School 51-28 .
SMA Choirs & Orchestra Fall Concert - October 21

SMA Choirs and Orchestra will perform a live concert on the learning stairs Wednesday, October 21st at 7 PM. Orchestra and choir students are to report to the commons by 6:30 in their concert attire. Family members that want to attend, please RSVP by contacting Jake Herzog at jherzog@smacatholic.org by October 20. HyVee Athlete of the Week Awarded to Jenna Drake & Emily Rogge

Congratulations to Emily Rogge & Jenna Drake for being named HyVee Athletes of the Week. They are the first girl tennis athletes in SMA school history to advance to the State Tournament. KSHB 41 Action news covered the story. To view the TV news story, click HERE.
Tennis Team Wins 2nd in Districts
Congratulations to the Lady Guardian Tennis Team for winning 2nd in Districts. Five Tennis Lady Guardians advanced to the sectional round last Friday. Freshman Samantha Rogge and the number 2 doubles team of Miah Reyes-Scheuerman and Clare Scheier had great matches against Odessa but did not come out on top. The number # 1 SMA team of Emily Rogge and Jenna Drake rolled their Odessa opponents 6-2, 6-0. Emily and Jenna now advance to the State Tournament in Springfield Oct 16 and 17. For more updates from the Girls Tennis Team CLICK HERE
Girls Golf Team Send Two to the State Tournament
Golf Team Finishes 3rd in Districts
Congratulations to Freshmen Pearl Taylor and Avery Basler who will advance to the Golf State Tournament next week. As a team, the Lady Guardians placed 3rd in Districts. We are proud of how the Guardians have represented SMA and wish Pearl and Avery good luck!

Since SMA opened our doors in 2017, the Golf Program has had at least one State Qualifier from both the girls and boys teams each year, except one. The future is bright for this solid golf program!
Winter Sports Concession Testing and Parent Meeting on October 31
On Saturday 10/31 at 9am there will be a meeting for all winter sports athletes and their parents/guardians.  Any athlete that has not completed their concussion testing will be required to take it at 9am. Parents will meet with Athletic Directors and coaches to discuss the upcoming winter season.  All physicals and paperwork will need to be turned in on this day. Email Mary Kroening at mkroening@smacatholic.org if you have any questions. Reminder that masks are required when entering SMA.

The Guard Membership

Employment Opportunity for an SMA Student
A family from Our Lady of the Presentation needs help after school with their two children. A 4th grade girl and 2nd grade boy. Responsibilities include help tutor the kids, finish homework, prepare a light snack and other small tasks. This would be everyday after school until 6pm. This is a paid position.
