Guatemala - COVID-19 Pandemic Update - Continuity of Service notice to our clients

Guatemala, April 1st, 2020

Dear Colleagues and Clients:

Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 pandemic emergency, the President of Guatemala has extended the executive measures of suspension of all non essential activities, for both the public and private sector, until April 12, 2020.

Based on the above, our premises will remain closed until such date .

Nevertheless, we have in place the necessary equipment and technological resources that enable us to continue to provide our services remotely, thus our operations will continue, to the extent possible, as normal, with our usual response times for all communications and requests.

For such purpose we are taking the following measures:

  • Our team will continue working remotely. You can reach each of our lawyers via email or to the general email bufelco@bufelco.com.gt
  • Our main telephone (+502 2326 7300) will remain functional and we will be able to take any call from home.
  • If any meeting is required we are able to attend any client via video or teleconference
  • Courier deliveries are still possible and can be sent.

The Trademark Office and Court System will be closed during this period; thus all running terms and deadlines will continue suspended until the executive measure adopted is lifted.

Please keep in mind that that during this period, it will not be possible to submit applications (filings, renewals, etc.) before the Trademark Office nor before the Courts, but we will process all instructions received and applications will be filed as soon as the operations return to normal, with no additional cost nor prejudice to client.

We appreciate your understanding and extend our best wishes for the health of each of you, your colleagues and families.

Please stay safe!

Sincerely yours,
BUFELCO PROPIEDAD INDUSTRIAL
