Message from the Director
Well... we missed spring and now its summer... but not to worry because the Conservancy has an exciting springish-summer line-up!

  • First, you don't want to miss the 2nd annual Perkiomen Native Plant Sale held at the Peter Wentz Farmstead in Worcester. We have thousands of natives ripe for the planting. Give your yard a colorful boost and help out our little pollinator buddies in the process.

  • Second, join us for the 12th annual Perkiomen Creek Sojourn. This year we have an exciting new event format and PIZZA! Bring your friends and family or if you want to get away from them for the day... come and make some new ones out on the creek!

  • Third, sign your youngster up for one of our summer science programs. We have something for every age... and what's better than hanging out in the creek in summertime?
  • Finally, Become a Member! The Conservancy starts each year with a big goose-egg and needs your annual support to keep us afloat!

This year we have an exciting new event format...
the Sojourn is now a true choose your own adventure!

Join the adventure on Saturday, June 2nd as we paddle an eight mile stretch of the Perkiomen Creek from Schwenksville to Oaks ! Explore the scenic beauty and hidden treasures of the Perkiomen. Do some boulder dodging. Battle the dams and rapids. Chat with old friends and make some new ones. Enjoy lunch at Cranberry Park, and learn a little about this gem winding through our own backyards. Bring your own canoe or kayak or rent one from us!
Now you can add a pizza to your Perkiomen paddling adventure!
Urban's Wood Fired Pizza Truck will be waiting for us at Cranberry Park! What is better than paddling...
Paddling with a PIZZA!!

Looking to beautify and add value to your yard this spring?
Choose from over 130 different native species of perennial flowering plants, ferns, vines and grasses at the Perkiomen Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 12 th  from 10 am - 4 pm.   Behmerwald Nursery will also be joining us to sell a wide variety of native trees and shrubs.  The sale will take place rain or shine at the Peter Wentz Farmstead.

The use of natives in your landscape is important to the health of our watershed. Learn more on our website about the ecological, economical, and aesthetic value of native plants.

This year during the Native Plant Sale, the Conservancy will be offering a Downspout Planter Workshop from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Join us for this hands-on workshop to create a fun planter to attach to the downspout of your home. These practical planters will help to reduce stormwater runoff from your property while beautifying the area around your downspout!
Volunteers needed for the Perkiomen Creek Sojourn on  Saturday, June 2 . This family fun event needs a lot of volunteer support! There are a variety of jobs from which to choose, including setting up, checking in participants, assisting at the lunch break and helping at the finish.

Volunteers win a FREE lunch from Urban's Pizza Truck... because our volunteers are winners!

 We look forward to having
you join our volunteer team
for this fun adventure!
Don’t miss your chance to have your child participate in one of the Conservancy’s exciting summer camp programs. These programs feature hands-on activities, experiments, games, crafts, songs and much more!  Small groups are led by professional educators.
