New York State Announces Movie Theaters
Can Reopen for Business October 23rd
On Saturday, Governor Cuomo announced that movie theaters outside of New York City can reopen for business this Friday, October 23rd. Guidelines for reopening include:
  • Being located in a county with an infection rate below 2% on a 14-day average and without cluster zones
  • 25% capacity, up to 50 people per theater
  • Masks are required unless seated, eating or drinking
  • Seats will be assigned to ensure social distancing
  • Social distancing must be maintained between parties at all times
  • Additional staffing is required to control occupancy, traffic, seating, and to ensure compliance.
  • Theaters are required to meet enhanced air filtration, ventilation and purification standards
Ski Resorts Provided Guidance Ahead
of 2020-2021 Season
New York State has released guidance for ski resorts to use for the upcoming season. Highlights of the guidelines are as follows:
  • Resorts are allowed to open as early as November 6th at 50% capacity
  • Masks are required at all times, except when skiing, eating or drinking
  • Social distancing must be maintained between parties
  • Ski lifts are limited to members of the same party
  • Rented and shared equipment must be cleaned and disinfected between use
  • Ski lessons are limited to no more than 10 people
  • Mountain capacity of 25% on peak days or when multiple trails are closed

GLOBAL BUSINESS ACADEMY

World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara’s Global Business Academy (GBA) is a new program for companies getting started in export, or enhancing their existing export international business. Through this nine-week course, companies will be educated by experts from the bi-national Buffalo Niagara region, enjoy 1-on-1 mentoring relationships and create their own export plan.

To help companies gain more insight into the program, World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara hosted an informational seminar last week, which can be seen here.

All educational courses and mentoring sessions of the GBA will be delivered via Zoom. The GBA will also feature “open office hours,” enabling participants to interact and get questions answered in a group setting as they complete their export plans.

GBA participants should expect lots of relevant information, worthwhile interactions with speakers, mentors and peer companies, and game-changing strategies to grow your business. Thanks to the generous contributions from our sponsors, cost of the GBA program (typically $2,000) is only $495, some of which may be eligible for grant reimbursement upon completion of the program. Participating companies also get a one-year membership to WTCBN for continued support.
