Arts Orange County and the Orange County Musicians Union, (Local 7, American Federation of Musicians), are pleased to join hands with Californians for the Arts in convening a Regional Conversation next month. The gathering is intended to brief local arts leaders and arts concerned citizens about arts advocacy successes in 2021, goals for 2022, and to inform attendees about changes resulting from the re-mapped districts at the County, State and Congressional level. The event will be held via Zoom (changed from live in person). Admission is free, but reservations are required. Details here.

From Voice of OC: The Orange County Museum of Art [announced] the appointment of two new staff members who will join the museum’s leadership team as it transitions to a new home at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. The $93 million, 53,000-square-foot museum is scheduled to open Oct. 8, 2022.

Courtenay Finn will be the new chief curator at OCMA, and Meagan Burger is the new director of learning and engagement. Finn, chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, will officially join OCMA in March, while Burger took on her role in October. Previously, Burger was manager of adult learning at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Read more here.

City of Newport Beach Arts Commission will consider applications for grants to arts organizations. The deadline is February 11th. Open only to nonprofit arts organizations for projects taking place within the City's boundaries. Details here.
