EDITORIAL:
Iraq War Was A Crime, Not A 'Mistake'
When Quincy Institute listed some alleged promoters of the Iraq War via its Responsible Statecraft symposium, their expert analysts rarely noted that the brutal U.S. invasion of Iraq was an illegal, international war crime. Instead, the analysts tended to described the war as a U.S. foreign policy "mistake," "debacle," "disastrous failure," or "Iraq folly."
U.S. foreign policy since 1945 has meant a long series of illegal covert and overt wars worldwide. U.S. leaders responsible for these crimes remain free, never prosecuted by the ICC or the United Nations organization. As a result, American expansionism via NATO has yet to be controlled. Ukraine is a US proxy war to "weaken" Russia, while the US prepares to provoke a war over Taiwan.
You may be surprised at the names listed in the following article as alleged promoters of the Iraq war, some of whom remain in powerful positions engineering endless wars unhindered and unrestrained by the ICC or the UN: Joe Biden, some columnists for the New York Times, Robert Kagan, Richard Perle, the Israel Lobby including Netanyahu, William Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz and others.
While the West demands that the International Criminal Court prosecute Russia's Putin for war crimes, the ICC has not pursued prosecution of the U.S. leaders responsible for the Iraq War or for current wars. Why? ICC officials were warned by the U.S. not to prosecute Americans. Taking a cue from the U.S., Russia too has threatened the ICC not to prosecute Putin or other Russians. We must therefore conclude that the ICC cannot be considered an unbiased, legitimate international criminal court.
In our toothless global UN/ICC/World Court system, there is no enforceable Law and Order. World criminals from Bully nations remain free to invade, plunder, lie and kill to destroy other nations. The fatally flawed UN Charter is a main problem.
A key part of the solution can be found with UN Charter review (Article 109-3).
The Center for UN Constitutional Research (CUNCR) offers expertise to the UN General Assembly which should join forces with the World Constitution & Parliament Association (WCPA) to introduce the visionary, yet practical Earth Constitution with the goal of establishing a "new UN" properly designed to have a real chance to end war and for good government.

Aside from Bush & Cheney who is at fault for the Iraq War?
Written by Responsible Statecraft (Quincy Institute)
Much has been said about the Iraq war and its failures over the last 20 years, including the roles of key decision makers like President Bush and Vice President Cheney. But what is perhaps not as well known is just how many people were involved in making it a reality. From White House staffers and senior officials, to allied think tank “experts” and prominent media figures, the Iraq war had many, many authors.
We asked nearly two dozen experts, journalists, former government officials, and others, which individual — outside of Bush or Cheney — was the underrated architect and promoter of the war in Iraq, and why. It’s important that we understand just how this country could end up on such a disastrous course by chronicling the widespread enthusiasm for in Washington and beyond.
