Herbalist & Alchemist joined Nawal and Heddy Tabet at the grand opening of their new Hackettstown, NJ store, Nature’s Food Markets, on December 14, 2024. The Tabets, who own a small-chain of natural food stores, A Matter of Health, in New York City and Rockland County, NY, brought their extensive knowledge to Hackettstown after they relocated from the city to the suburbs. Nawal and Heddy immediately saw that the area needed a healthy supermarket, but with more budget friendly options than other places. They set out to make that happen by taking over the 40,000 square foot old A&P supermarket on the corner of Naughright Rd and Route 46 East, refurbishing the store to a beautiful, bright, and welcoming place to shop. The store features a coffee shop, juice bar, hot food bar, salad bar, soup bar, and an all-organic produce department. Nature’s Food Markets is now the largest independent natural food store in New Jersey.
This grand opening event, with staff offering trays of hors d’oeuvres and lemonade, was packed with customers from all over Warren, Morris, and Sussex counties. The actor Stephen Baldwin, who is a friend of the Tabets, was there to raffle off over 170 baskets and two grand prize giveaways. There was live music, cooking demos, and product tastings. Nicole Smith, H&A National Sales Manager, set up an Adaptogens Survival Station featuring Daily Adapt, Energy Adapt, and Calm Adapt, and a Bitters tasting station featuring Original Bitters, Old World Bitters, Spiced Bitters, and Bitter Roots. People were lined up down the aisle waiting for their turn to taste our products! The Tabet’s are extremely supportive of local farms and vendors. With Herbalist & Alchemist just 20 minutes down the road from their new store, they are as excited as we are to partner with like-minded people.
