H-GAC Board of Directors Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Agendas for all committees can be found on our website Please visit our  calendar  for upcoming meetings and events.

Unless otherwise listed, meetings are held on the second floor at H-GAC's office, 3555 Timmons Lane, Houston, TX 77027


January Board of Directors Meeting

The January meeting of the H-GAC  Board of Directors was cancelled as a result of the winter storm experienced by our region.  Items placed on the agenda will be moved to the February agenda for consideration and approval.
Public Works Employment
Workforce Solutions, is responding to the regional workforce challenges created by Hurricane Harvey for local governments by providing funds to help employ workers who have lost their jobs due the storm or other qualifying circumstances. Work must be related to the repair of public facilities or land.   Click HERE  for more information. 
H-GAC Releases 2017 County Profiles
2017 County Profiles H-GAC recently released a 2017 update of the County Profiles for the 13-county H-GAC region. Originally developed in 2013 as part of the Our Great Region 2040 planning effort, these profiles contain information on population, housing, employment, education, health, the environment, and transportation.

The 2017 County Profiles provide demographic data to help county leaders identify needs and opportunities and better tell their stories through data.

H-GAC 2018 Election Law Workshop - Deadline Approaching
The 2018 Election Law Workshop will be held on  Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 7:45 a.m. to  3:00 p.m. at  N oah's Event Venue  in Sugar Land.

All city and school district staff who are responsible for conducting elections are invited to attend this annual event.  Participants will receive detailed updates on election laws and step-by-step procedures for conducting an election.

  • Crystal Roan - City Secretary, City of Webster
  • Doris Speer - City Secretary, City of Tomball
  • Lee Woodward - City Secretary, City of Huntsville
The registration fee is $125 per person and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon break, and one copy of the Step by Step Conduct of an Election Handbook.  Register  HERE .

Regional Recycling Roundtable - February 22
Electronics Recycling
Save the date for the next Regional Recycling Roundtable from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, February 22, at H-GAC Conference Room A, Second Floor.

The topic is electronics recycling, and presentations include How to Hold a Repair Cafe (Green Building Resource Center) and Houston Computer Works (Goodwill and Dell).

Registration is requested.

H-GAC hosts quarterly Regional Recycling Roundtables to promote recycling and waste reduction and provide a forum for discussion about recycling issues within the region.

2045 Regional Transportation Plan - Public Meetings Scheduled
Planning efforts for the 2045 Regional Transportation Plan continue, and there are numerous opportunities to voice your ideas and get involved in the New Year.  Public meetings will begin in March and run through April of 2018.

An important component to the transportation planning process, public meetings are used to disseminate material, provide a setting for public discussion, and get community feedback.  Our public meetings give you the opportunity to meet our staff, ask questions, share concerns, and learn more about how the planning works.

Save the date and attend an upcoming meeting in your area.
25th Trash Bash - March 24

The  River, Lakes, Bays 'N Bayous Trash Bash celebrates 25 years on  Saturday, March 24.

Since the cleanup event began, 105,800 volunteers have cleaned up 2,189 tons of trash, 10,709 tires, and 16.3 tons of recycling along 1,446 miles of shoreline.

Thousands of volunteers will meet at 14 locations across the Galveston Bay Watershed on March 24. Volunteers get t-shirts, supplies, lunch, and chances to win prizes. Educational exhibits and displays provide a chance to learn more about waterways. Cleanup locations and registration information is available online.

There's still time to support the largest single-day waterway cleanup in Texas this year by becoming a Trash Bash sponsor. The deadline is Wednesday, January 31.

Texas Municipal League - 2018 Region 14 Spring Meeting - Save The Date!

TML Region 14 members will meet on Friday, April 20, 2018 for their annual Spring Meeting at Sam Houston Race Park to enjoy an exciting evening of dinner and  live racing.  Registration will open soon, so please make plans to attend this memorable event.
