Taitano Elementary School became the first elementary school on the island to take the Håfa Adai Pledge. This was a monumental ceremony as GVB welcomed a wave of new, young ambassadors of the Håfa Adai Pledge who vowed to exemplify the Håfa Adai Spirit. Faculty, staff, and the students of C.L. Taitano’s dedication to preserving and protecting Guam’s culture and natural resources is a beautiful display of the power Guam’s youth holds in revitalizing our culture.
Principal Corina Y. Paulino, Assistant Principal Denise Taimanglo, teacher representatives and student representatives from the Headstart through Fifth Grade classes took the Håfa Adai Pledge on behalf of the schools administrators, teachers and student body.

Guam Visitors Bureau welcomed locally established, owned and managed
Synergy Studios Guam, Synergy Wellness Guam, and Purebred BJJ Guam
to the Håfa Adai Pledge program on September 28, 2018, at the Synergy Studios Guam building in Hagåtña. The companies pledged their commitment to embody the Håfa Adai Spirit and hospitality in how they promote fitness and wellness for their local and international clientele. Clare Calvo, representative of Synergy Studios Guam and Synergy Wellness Guam, shared how Synergy’s holistic approach to bettering health and self mirrors the spirit of Inafa’maolek through the services they offer -- Cryotherapy, Cupping Therapy, John of God Crystal Bed Healing and Normatec Pulse Recovery.
During the ceremony, Stephen Roberto, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu third-degree black belt and owner of Purebred BJJ Guam, spoke about Purebred BJJ’s partnership with Synergy Studios and Synergy Wellness. fa Adai Pledge - Camilyn Soledad
|
|
With her loud Håfa Adai spirit you will hear Camilyn Soledad throughout the hallways of Outrigger Guam Beach Resort. Camilyn became one of the first Recreation Attendants of Outrigger since the Recreation Department started in September 2016. As a recreation attendant, she exudes her love for creating memorable guest experiences whether she’s entertaining at the pool following safety measurements, working with children or teaching guests cultural artistry through Outrigger's SinsediKadaDia, Daily Happenings.
Camilyn has been a part of many projects as the department has blossomed into full form. From helping to build the new kids club from scratch utilizing her artistic creativity with refurbishing projects, to greater responsibilities such as merchandising the new upcoming Coral Kids store working alongside management.
On the daily you will find Camilyn greeting each family, giving high fives to all the children surrounding the pool and teaching guest experience activities, such as Lei Making or Water Polo. Most importantly, Camilyn has contributed to a significant amount of saves at the pool-side, as she consistently remains attentive and alert to the safety of guests. She is also known to receive the most positive guest feedback from Outrigger's Coral Kids Club program where letters have been personally sent from guests to her. She believes in her work, and exemplifies her love for it with her positive attitude and strive to make every guest leave with a memorable Håfa Adai experience.

"The presentation made a difference to the students and to us instructors. It solidifies that my students understand the importance of tourism to our island. They appreciate the work that the Guam Visitors Bureau does to promote Guam as a destination. It widens their knowledge of the strategies to compete with other destinations. It allowed us to understand the challenges and advantages in promoting Guam to others markets especially from the perspective of experts, GVB President & CEO Nate Denight and GVB Marketing Manager for China Nadine Leon Guerrero." - Tes Reyes-Burrier, Food and Beverage Director at Lotte Hotel Guam and Adjunct Professor at Guam Community College.
The Tourism Talk Tour presentations are available for schools, community groups, businesses and organizations across Guam. Delivered by Guam Visitors Bureau representatives with the aim to provide information that is accurate and relevant to the local community. To book a presentation, contact Guam Visitors Bureau at 646-5278.
