COO Corner
A Pivot Toward Purpose:

As we roll into the dog days of summer, sometimes it is hard to find motivation to bring our A-game each and every clinic visit, patient encounter or co-worker interaction. When you are feeling a little bogged down by the day-day….it is time to take a “Pivot toward Purpose”. Remember the “why” behind your actions each day.

For many of us…..we come to work every day because we love the interaction with our clients….having the power to make their day and improve their lives. When you get frustrated or it just feels hard, remember you are a hero. You change lives. Remember your Purpose.

I look at our mission statement that sits on the wall across from my desk. To paraphrase…..”To Make H2 Health a place that both our patients and our employees want to be”.

That is my Purpose….to work hard every day to get closer to that goal.

I am always willing to hear your feedback and ideas to get us closer. Have a great month!

H2 Wealth of Knowledge
with Corey
Content and efficiency with documentation are such important aspects of our job as therapists. This helps ensure that our patient’s status and response to therapy leads to appropriate authorization and reimbursement. This is also important in regard to being timely with documentation and having an ideal work/life balance.

With this in mind, I have one question to ask… Who is NOT using an EVALUATION TEMPLATE when completing an initial evaluation?

Evaluation templates allow you to ensure that important statements and comments are within each note. These templates also allow the therapist to have 80% of their Initial Evaluation completed just by opening up the template. The remaining 20% allows you to fine tune you information for that specific patient.

Within the evaluation template, the therapist can have any and every field within the evaluation prefilled with information. All patients are unique, but the way in which we evaluate them and the statements/comments we make, are very repetitive. Take advantage of this through these templates. Create a template for each evaluation type you complete (i.e., by joint, by region, etc.)

To learn how to create and save evaluation templates:

Beginning July 16 the phone number “988” will debut nationally as a new access point for critical mental health support, in the same way one dials “911” for emergency services. The new number stems from the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act, which Congress passed in 2020.

Dialing “988” will replace the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and help meet the growing need nationally for urgent and emergent mental health care. Additionally, the phone line will help further elevate suicide prevention and early intervention with other medical emergencies as serious health issues.

The 988 network routes calls - either from someone in distress or someone calling on their behalf – to a local crisis center based on the caller’s location. Trained counselors can intervene in these critical moments, but also connect individuals to appropriate resources and more quickly and effectively plan longer term care to sustain recovery and quality of life.

Special routing is available for both veterans and Spanish-speaking individuals.

H2 Hot Seat

Meet Rachel Hunkele, MPT/MBA
Director of Administrative Services

Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be a part of the H2 Health family! The most attractive part of H2 as an organization is it’s focus on people and employees. Most of the senior leadership has a degree in therapy and understands the mind of a therapist, thereby making management of people an easier task. The attention placed on employees is evident with how resources are spread and utilized.

1)    What was the very first concert you ever attended? Whitney Houston at Hershey Park. She was my absolute favorite and the concert was terrible!

2)    What is the next place on your travel bucket list? India with my kids and husband! My parents immigrated from there before I was born and I have a ton of family that my kids haven't met yet.

3)    What is the last tv show or series that you binge-watched? Ms. Marvel with my kids. It's such a fun show with amazing graphics and it embraces a different culture!

4)    What fun fact about you do most people not know? I knew from a young age that I wanted to be in the medical field because most of my family was in some version of that. In 9th grade I watched a not well know Harrison Ford movie, Regarding Henry, and I fell in love with the Physical Therapy profession based on that movie!

5)  Do you have a favorite quote that you try to live by? “SPREAD LOVE WHEREVER YOU GO. LET NO ONE COME TO YOU WITHOUT LEAVING HAPPIER.” ~MOTHER THERESA
