Children’s Chapel and the Upper Room Returns this Sunday morning!
If you haven’t seen the small pew in the back of the sanctuary, take a look—the church is continuing to be more friendly for future worshipers! There’s a video on the website that will show you (in less than a minute) what happens in the Children’s Chapel every Sunday. Thank you for your support of our youngest members.

Belizean Group in town during the Richmond Folk Festival
This weekend's annual music festival on the James River will include the group Garifuna Collective. Hope you get out to hear the music, especially if you've been on a Missionary Society Grace and Holy Trinity trip to Belize!
Heaven, Hell & Hollywood Wraps up Oct. 13
Our three part series about Christian burial rites, estate planning tips and leaving a legacy through planned giving concludes this Sunday, Oct. 13 at 10:00 a.m. with Nancy Trego. It’s part of the Adult Forum series of educational opportunities on timely topics. If you missed the previous sessions you can read the handouts online under the “end of life” resources section of the planned giving section of our website.

Update on Interim Events: Leadership Sunday Oct. 20
Have you missed the first two Interim Events? Held in the Parish Hall at 9:30 a.m. on alternating Sundays between services, these parish-wide conversations have helped us gain insights into our past and our future. You can review the notes online from each session as they become available although you have to be present to have your voice heard. Parents & Families: Meet Us at the Playground
Nick Sollog is organizing monthly, Saturday get togethers of kids and parents at local playgrounds for fun and fellowship. These meetups will be Oct. 26 ( Westhampton Playground ), Nov. 23 ( Huguenot Park ), and Dec. 28 ( Children’s Museum of Richmond ) with coffee and doughnuts provided. Please let Nick know if you plan to come! 
VCU Connection | Interns+
Did you know that there are currently two VCU interns from the School of Social Work completing their field placement with GHTC? Their names are Caitlin and Savannah. Recently, they learned about voter registration and restoration of rights and will be working with community members at Red Door Ministry to restore rights and register them to vote in the 2020 elections. They also are the first members of the Red Door Ministry team to complete the training for Feed More so that we can be an affiliate organization! Caitlin and Savannah are amazing additions to our team.  

Oct. 16 Lecture at VCU on Van Gogh Letters
Please join VCU's Powell-Edwards Lecture in Religion and the Arts, featuring Dr. Clifford Edwards, Professor of Religious Studies at VCU, delivering a talk entitled, “Van Gogh’s Second Gift: Intimate Letters on Art and Discovery, Living and Dying,” on Wednesday, October 16, at 4:00 p.m. in the University Student Commons, Richmond Salons I-II. This event is co-sponsored by the Powell-Edwards Lecture Series for Religion and the Arts and the Humanities Research Center.

Care for those in Prison
Episcopal Campus Ministry is collecting Bibles for the Grace Inside Chaplains of the Virginia Penitentiary system. If you have a handheld bible that you can donate you can leave them in the box outside Kim’s office, or in the front hall near the administrators office. We will be collecting these through Thanksgiving. If you have any questions please let Mo. Kim know.
