Construction Update

Only two more phases remain before the Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood® is fully built. Grading has been finished for two lots in Phase 6 of the community. We are eager to move forward with the next steps to complete this phase. Your donations and volunteer efforts will help us continue construction and provide these homes for our veterans.

We invite you to join us in constructing this community by participating in the upcoming annual Rainbow Build. This is your opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of a veteran!

The Rainbow Build engages neighborhoods, corporations and the LGBTQA+ community in Homes 4 Families mission to build resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods, and homes for veteran families.

Veteran Trauma-Informed Art

"Eagles Higher Than the Storm" is a powerful two-part workshop designed specifically for veterans to reflect on and process the challenges, or "storms," they've faced throughout their lives. Through creative expression and symbolic exploration, participants gained insight into their personal journeys and the inner strength that has carried them through.

In the first session, veterans created a visual representation of the storms they've weathered. Using watercolors and mixed media, the participants designed a background that symbolizes the emotional, mental, or physical challenges they've encountered.

In the second session, the focus shifts from the storm to the strength. Drawing inspiration from the eagle, a symbol of resilience and vision, veterans identified the "feathers" that helped them rise above adversity. These feathers represent personal qualities, support systems, values, or pivotal moments. Participants incorporated these feathers into their artwork, transforming their stormy backgrounds into powerful symbols of triumph and growth.

Funder Spotlight

We're excited to shine a light on our new friends at EverBank. This is our very first year partnering with them, and already they've gone above and beyond to support our mission and community.

Not only did EverBank provide a generous grant, but their team also jumped right in to share their knowledge and time. They hosted two engaging virtual workshops—one on how to ask for a raise and communicate your worth, and another on navigating the transition from military to corporate life, led by a panel of veteran employees. Their commitment didn't stop there. EverBank associates showed up in person at this year's WE Build and are already gearing up to join us again for Rainbow Build.

What makes this partnership so special is that EverBank truly believes in investing in people and neighborhoods. Through their EverBank Builds program, they focus on financial education, community development, and empowering their employees to make a difference. Across the country, their associates come together with compassion and dedication to help individuals and families reach financial health and build lasting equity.

We're grateful for EverBank's generosity, heart, and hands-on involvement. Here's to building even stronger communities together.
