March 30, 2020

Good morning all,

The Housing Authority of Champaign County (HACC) prioritizes the health and safety of our communities, residents, staff, and program participants. As the outbreak of COVID-19 virus continues to impact the Champaign County communities, as well as the nation, I want our team here at HACC to rest assure that we are taking every measure to support the efforts ongoing to preserve public health and limit face to face interaction with one another during these uncertain times.

On March 18, 2020, we closed the administrative office to all staff while an employee awaited test results after potentially being exposed to the virus. Today, we are grateful to notify you that the employee's test result returned negative for the COVID-19 virus. HACC will continue to take preventative measures to protect the health and safety of those who mean the most to us during this time of uncertainty. Effective March 29, 2020, President Donald Trump has also extended the  restrictive  social distancing  guidelines through April 30, 2020. HACC will continue the temporary closure of the administrative office until all restrictions have been lifted. We are committed to maintaining essential business operations and providing essential services to our residents, board members, community partners, and the HACC employee team.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility over the last few weeks. Our agency is committed to minimizing the spread of this deadly virus, and we hope to resume normal operations as soon as we are able to. In the meantime, our staff is on hand to answer any questions, take comments, or resolve a concern. Our team can be reached at concerns@hacc.net or by dialing 217-378-7100 x 5001. All messages will be responded to within 48 hours.

Sincerely,

David A. Northern Sr.
