Journey to the Underworld... and back again.


The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice comes alive in Hadestown: Teen Edition,

a hauntingly beautiful musical about love, sacrifice, and defying the odds.


With a vibrant, folk-jazz score and a story that takes audiences on a thrilling ride between hope and despair, freedom and fate.

THESE AUDITIONS ARE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AGES 14 - 18 ONLY.


PARENTS: There is a parent volunteer requirement of working at 2 performances (per ACTOR) for your child/children to be cast in this show. If you are unable to volunteer, there will be a $50.00 participation fee (per ACTOR) required for your child/children’s participation. Volunteers sign up or fee paid will be due by opening night.


PLEASE NOTE: If you are cast in this show there will be a MANDATORY company meeting via ZOOM for ALL CAST members AND a PARENT/GUARDIAN on March 20 @7:00pm OR March 28 @10:00am. You MUST ATTEND one of these meetings in order to participate in the show.

BOTH THE PERFORMER AND A PARENT MUST ATTEND!

(If you were a cast member this Season in CPM's Little Mermaid, Annie, The Play That Goes Wrong or A Year With Frog and Toad you have already completed this requirement and are excused from attending this meeting.)


If you have not been cast in a CPM show before please bring a photograph of yourself to attach to your audition form.

This does NOT need to be a formal headshot. Any size photo will work.


Auditions for this show are for:

Ages 14 to 18.

Students must be in high school.


We ask that you list all conflicts you have between March 10 and April 30, 2026, on your audition form.


PLEASE NOTE:

Conflicts during Tech Week (April 25 - 30) will affect casting decisions. We prefer no conflicts during this week.


Rehearsals are normally three weeknights from 6:30 to 9:00pm and 12:00 to 6:00pm on Saturdays and/or Sundays, except Tech/Dress weeks when they will be 12:00 to 6:00pm on Sat. and Sun. and weeknights from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

6:30 - 8:30pm

You will receive your audition form at sign in. You need to be signed in by 8:30pm in order to audition. Each audition group will take about 30 minutes. If we get a lot of auditionees there will be a long wait time between each group.


PLEASE NOTE:

Performance Dates

Friday May 1, 8, 15 @ 7 pm

May 2, 9, 16, 17 @ 1pm

(Actor call time is 10am for 1pm performances and 5pm for 7pm performances.)


PERFORMANCE CONFLICTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.


WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

Prepare 32 measures (or one verse and one chorus) of a song that shows off your voice the best (not too high or too low for your vocal range). The song does not need to be from the show.

BRING SHEET MUSIC WITH YOU OR A KARAOKE TRACK DOWNLOADED ON A MOBILE DEVICE.

(Track can have no lead vocals)


You may or may not be asked to read from the script.
