HALA Community Focus Groups  - 670 strong!

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to apply for the HALA Community Focus Groups. We are grateful for your interest and commitment to engaging on this very important topic. 

An estimated 160 applicants will be selected, and focus groups are scheduled to start meeting monthly in April. Those who applied will hear from us by March 21st. Those not selected to participate are encouraged to stay engaged by attending the focus group meetings – they will be public meetings, with dates, times, and locations published on our website.

Olympia Update!

The Preservation Tax Exemption (PTE) Bill will create a local option for a tax exemption for building owners who set aside a portion of their buildings as affordable housing has stalled in the State legislature.

A special session to reach agreement on a supplemental budget began last week and will go for 30 days. The PTE bill could move forward during the overtime, but lawmakers are primarily focused on reaching a budget.
